How long is each show?

Each set is usually 1 hour long and sets can be mixed and matched to suit your needs.

Can I cherry pick the songs I want the band to perform?

The 70s and the 80s shows are made up of three medleys and as such cannot be altered. The other shows can be mixed and matched to suit your requirements.

How many sets do you perform?

We normally perform two sets in an evening.  

What about a DJ?

One Stop Boogie can DJ throughout the evening for free. This ensures only one set of equipment being used in your venue, less clutter, more freedom for you. You will then be able to choose the music. Either Colin or Sarah will DJ.

If you prefer not to use our DJ service we will play Cds between sets.

Do the band always wear costumes?

We offer you the choice of our themed shows in costumes or if you prefer we wear black evening wear.

Will you play our first dance live?

We would love to be able to play everyone’s first dance live, however it may not always be possible.

If we cannot play your first dance live we will play your first dance song from CD.

What do we need to provide?

The band require a clean, private, lockable dressing room. One Stop Boogie are not prepared to leave their personal possesions at risk while they perform. One Stop Boogie do not got changed in toilets or public changing rooms. One Stop Boogie arrive at the venue in good time to set up their equipment and soundcheck. This means we are on site for a very long time, sometimes 12 hours and the band are not prepared to spend all that waiting time in a unsuitable place. The dressing room must have plug sockets, suitable lighting, a table and four chairs and must not be used by guests or venue staff.

We need a place that can accomodate us for the duration of the event. If the band have to arrive at your event before 5pm we ask for refreshments tea, coffee, mineral water and hot food for 4 adults. I am afraid an invite to the evening buffet is not sufficient as this is generally the same time as the band have performed or are about to perform.The performers need to eat 90 mins before performance times.If there is no hot food available then sandwiches will suffice as an emergency plan. If sandwiches are not available we must know in advance so we can make alternative arrangements.

How long does it take to set up?

Depending on ease of access to the venue set up usually takes a minimum of 1.5 hours. We need a minimum of four 13 amp power sockets.

Who will be in the band?

One Stop Boogie are a full time band. The musicians you see on the ‘about us’ page are the musicians you will see at your event. The number and combination of musicians will depend on your set choices and requirements.

Tell me about the projection service.

One Stop offers a unique projection service. Supply us with a cd of your favourite photographs any time up to one week before your event and we will transform it into a movie that will be projected during the evening. The movie will be yours to keep after your event.

Can guests use band equipment?

We are happy for you to use our radio mics for speeches, announcements etc whilst we are present. However, we cannot allow guests or clients to use equipment/props/instruments at any point before/during/after the performance.

How far do you travel?

One Stop Boogie are based in Manchester and will travel anywhere UK and abroad.

Who do I liaise with on the evening?

Colin will be present at your function. Colin will be performing on stage and DJing he is also the person you have had all your communication with, therefore he knows all the details of your event and is present from beginning until the van drives away. 

How much do the band charge?

The price you pay depends on set choices, number of musicians required, DJ service required, set up and finish times and distance from our office close to Manchester Airport.

A 10% deposit secures your booking. The balance is usually due 7 days before the event

PLI and PAT Testing?

For your safety all our equipment is fully PAT tested and we carry £10,000,000 Public Liability Insurance.

What plans are in place in case of a vehicle breakdown

We use a reliable van and are covered by Green Flag Rescue in the event of a breakdown. To ensure that we always arrive at the venue on time we  allow for traffic situations and unforseen circumstances. 

Can we see you perform live before we book?

Most of our events are private weddings, parties or corporate functions and therefore we cannot always invite prospective clients to our events. We can supply email contacts for past clients who will be happy to provide testimonials.
